We repair all fiberglass and prepreg blades and cracked or broken blades. Trailing edges are brought back to original OEM specifications. Blade repair can be accomplished on-site on the ground, from elevated man baskets or in a shop. Blades are damaged over time by UV degrading the Gelcote, acid from bug guts, lightning strikes, cracks opening and freezing, bird and bat strikes, as well as the normal wear and tear from the operating environment. Once damage is noted there are three options:

  • repairs in place
  • drop individual blades for repair on-site
  • utilize crane and drop hub with all blades

The extent of repairs needed will determine options. Since time is money choosing an option that will return the turbine to service as soon as possible is preferred. This may include having replacement blades on-site. See blade repair products in the Products section.
